Ginger is added into the regular Black Tea or Chai while boiling. This is a great remedy for common colds and inflammation.
Ingredients
- 2 Cups of Water
- 3 tsp of good quality leaf tea(you can use tea bags also)
- ½” piece of Ginger (Adrak) (crushed)  ( do not ready made Ginger Paste as it may contain vinegar. )
- ½ tsp. of Aniseeds (Sounf) – Optional
- Â 1 tbsp. of Holy Basil Leaves (Tulsi Leaves) (optional – if you can not find it then skip it)
- Sugar (to taste)
- ¾ cups of Milk
Preparation
Method 1
- Take a sauce pan and add water and put it on medium heat
- Add the crushed ginger, aniseeds and holy basil leaves.
- Let the water to come to a boil.
- Now add the tea leaves bring to a boil and then let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Strain the tea and put it in a tea pot.
Serve it with milk and sugar
Method 2

- Now add the tea leaves bring to a boil.
- Add milk and bring it to a boil.
- Add Sugar as per taste
- Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Strain the tea and put it in a tea pot.
Ginger tea will sooth your throat and relieve the cold symptoms.
Tulsi or Holy Basil is also great for coughs and colds. and have many other health benefits.
