Amrtisari Spicy  and  Grilled Paneer recipe

 

Ingredients

  1. 500 gms. Paneer ( Cottage cheese)
  2. 2 onions sliced into thin rings
  3. 1 tsp. ginger paste
  4. 1 tsp. garlic paste
  5. 1/2 tbsp. coriander finely chopped
  6. 1 tsp. Ajwain seeds
  7. 3/4 cup gram flour
  8. 1 tsp. red chilli powder
  9. 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
  10. 1/2 tsp. tandoori masala ( or Tandoori Paste)
  11. 1/2 tsp. punjabi garam masala
  12. 1/2 tsp. sugar
  13. 1 anardana powder
  14. 1/2 tsp. Red Chilli Powder
  15. salt to taste
  16. 2 tbsp. oil

Preparation

  1. Cut paneer into small cubes.
  2. Make a thick mixture of flour, salt, ginger, garlic, turmeric, ajwain, garam masala, Red Chilli Powder & tandoori masala ( or paste)
  3. Add 1/2 tbsp. oil, mix well.
  4. If the mixture is still dry then add some water to get toothpaste like consistency.
  5. Use this mixture to marinate onions and the paneer cubes.
  6. Grill on a bar-b-que skewer or grill mesh till crisp and brown. You can also use the electrical grill cum sandwich maker.
  7. Heat remaining oil, add onions, saute till light brown.
  8. Add marinate paste, stir well and cook.
  9. When dry add grilled paneer, chilli, anardana powder, sugar, salt.
  10. Toss well. Garnish with coriander.

Serve it with Naan, Rice or Roti
