This is a great chutney which can be made in 5 minutes flat. The ingredients and the recipe are simple but packs lot of taste in it. Give it a try and use your own imagination to bring different flavours of your choice.

Ingredients

  1. Dessicated Coconut – 1 cup
  2. Yoghurt 1 cup
  3. Sambar Powder 1 tablespoon
  4. Heeng – 1 pinch
  5. Curry Leaves – 10
  6. Red dry chillies 4
  7. Black Mustard Seeds(also known as Rayee) 1 tablespoon
  8. Oil 1 teaspoon
  9. Chana Dal – 2 tablespoons
  10. Optional – Chilli Sauce.

 

Preparation

  1.  Take a small fry pan and put it on medium heat
  2.  Add the  oil.
  3. Add the red chillies and fry
  4. Add the curry leaves and fry
  5. Add the  Mustard Seeds and fry till they start crackling.
  6. Add the boiled Chana Dal.
  7. Fry for a minute.
  8. Add the Sambar Powder and stir for a minute.
  9. Take it off the heat.
  10. Take a mixing bowl.
  11. Add the desiccated coconut powder
  12. Add the yoghurt
  13. Add the fried mixture which you have just cooked.
  14. Mix it well.
  15. Add some salt as per taste.
  16. Mix well.
Serve with any snack or meal.

 

You can also add the chilli sauce, it will give it a tangy flavour and also nice colour. ( You can try any other sauce also to give it a different flavour and colour
